Member Duties : Our vision is “an empowered community with equitable access to food, housing, healthcare and emergency services.” The food security volunteer will directly impact access to food for those living in the Upper Wenatchee Valley: -Organize a new food box delivery program, including directly making deliveries to client’s homes, working with volunteers to organize deliveries to outlying areas, and delivering fresh, healthy produce from our gleaning program to outlying food banks. -Pick up donated apples and pears from local orchards and fruit warehouses to ensure all clients have access to healthy fruit in winter months when produce is not as readily available. -Call past and current food bank shoppers, to better understand their unique situations and ensure they have access to food, either bypickup or delivery.
