Primary Responsibilities :
- Hires, trains, motivate, and monitor the performance of the Service Department managers, Service Advisors, and Technicians.
- Attends managers meetings; hold weekly department meetings; Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
- Creating goals and objectives for the department, which includes monthly reports, an annual operating budget and a marketing plan to promote new and repeat business.
- Monitors technicians’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records; initials all repair orders before submitting them to the warranty the department, monitoring for sales and hours relative to expectations; informs repair technicians of time allowances on each repair order.
- Monitors and follows up on parts orders with the parts manager to ensure availability.
- Works with Service Department employees and other Departments to improved profitability and efficiency.
- Creates and maintains a positive relationship with customers, that the department staff is helpful, as well as making customer satisfaction a priority to ensure referral and repeat business.
- Maintaining the highest Customer Service Index (CSI) rating from customers by handling customer’s concerns immediately and according to dealership policy.
- Providing training on administrative policies and procedures for all department personnel. Encouraging technicians to keep their skill up-to-date through periodic technical training on new systems and components offered by the automotive manufacturers.
- Keeping up-to-date on manufacturer warranty and policy procedures while serving as a liaison with the factory representatives.
- Understands keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operation, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
- Ability to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends to achieve your goals.
- Maintains a safe work environment.
- All Other duties as assigned
Experience/Education:
- Minimum 5 years of Service Manager experience required
- Proven leadership abilities
- Excellent MS Office tools fluency, especially Excel
- Experience with ADP/CDK
- A self-directed, detail-oriented, reliable, and strong initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with leaders, peers, and others as required
