Clinical Nutritionist – Essen Healthcare – Bronx, NY

Essen is currently seeking a Full- Time Clinical Nutritionist.

The Clinical Nutritionist works with minimal supervision reporting to Director in an outpatient setting. As part of a multidisciplinary care team, the dietitian provides nutrition education and care to the patient. The primary responsibility of the dietitian is a consulting role providing patients (individually or group classes) education including evaluation, documentation, and the development, implementation and coordination of the outpatient nutrition education program to optimize postoperative outcomes and attainment of optimal weight loss and health

The selected candidate will be responsible to perform duties including but not limited to:

  • Develops and coordinates dietary instructions with clinicians
  • Contributes to initial and ongoing comprehensive care planning
  • Provide lifestyle/behavior change coaching on behavioral health issues, based on health risk appraisals
  • Develop meal plans, taking both cost and clients’ preferences into account
  • Write reports to document patient progress
  • Weight Management

The successful candidate will have the following Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
  • Registered Dietitian
  • Certified Nutritionist, Registered Nutritionist, or Clinical Nutritionist
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
