Oversee regulatory compliance for a national multi-site Senior Living company. Plan and direct programs, policies & practices to ensure all operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements. Formulate and implement regulatory policies & procedures to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained or enhanced. Provide risk management / quality improvement consults and visits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicates Assisted Living / Memory Care regulatory information to multiple departments and ensures that information is interpreted correctly.
- Assists with licensing & compliance for new development communities.
- Monitors compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements through scheduled community audits.
- Prepares and files incident reports with multiple state licensing and regulatory agencies; responds to licensing and regulatory agencies regarding resident issues, program changes, and compliance; reviews agency survey findings and prepares appeals as indicated.
- Supports Company executives, department heads and managers of the Company’s business as a subject matter expert for regulatory, compliance and risk management issues.
- Monitors emerging trends regarding senior living industry regulations to determine potential impacts on organizational processes and implements changes as necessary.
- Updates operating policies related to regulatory compliance and risk management as necessary and ensure proper implementation of revised policies.
- BA in a related field with emphasis in Social Services or Healthcare
- Minimum 10 years experience in regulatory compliance & quality assurance in skilled nursing, acute care, assisted living or a related healthcare field.
- Demonstrated expertise in a variety of healthcare concepts, practices and procedures
- Advanced analytical and communication skills
- Confidence to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse groups of people
- Ability to travel overnight as business needs require
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24 hour operation
