Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Central Transportation Transporter is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items to and from their destinations in a professional, courteous and compassionate manner. This service will enable nurses, clinical partners, physicians, diagnostic technicians and therapists to perform their duties in an efficient and effective manner. Ensures all patient interactions are conducted using the concept of AIDET as the primary communication tool. Responsibilities also include movement of equipment, supplies and operation of elevators to facilitate patient and equipment transports. These services include, but are not limited to transporting patients, equipment and supplies between nursing units, diagnostic areas, emergency department and morgue. The Transporter must work collaboratively with Management, the Dispatch Call Center and all healthcare team personnel.
Experience:
Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (or a comparable level of education and / or hospital – clinic experience).
Full comprehension (verbal and written) of the English language.
License/Certification/Requirements:
Basic Life Safety Certification/CPR Certification through American Heart Association is required.
