Our Mt. Vernon (Burlington), WA is adding an Independent Medical Exam Coordinator with medical transcription experience. This position is responsible for the timely receipt, organization and delivery of medical records for scheduled independent medical examinations along with transcription of provider voice files. Staffs exam clinics by greeting examinees, coordinating exam activities, and organizing documentation.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking dates of scheduled examinations, requesting and tracking receipt of records, organizing records into compliance established procedures, sending and tracking delivery of records.
  • Coordinates with the client to obtain required medical records prior to examination.
  • Transcribing voice files to text to generate independent medical examination reports applying medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Edits spelling & grammar errors; edits documents by recognizing, interpreting, and evaluating repetition, discrepancies, and inaccuracies; editing, revising, and clarifying without altering meaning and style.


Knowledge and Prerequisite Skills:

  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, well developed customer service skills, and internet research skills.
  • Exemplary grammar, spelling and proofreading skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to transcribe voice files and generate reports.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple high priorities.
  • High level of competency in Microsoft Office Suite programs. Ability to type at 80 WPM with minimal errors.
  • Technically savvy, ability to work with proprietary software.


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in administrative support and/or medical office preferred.


Local travel is required; therefore, reliable transportation, DMV, and background checks are required.
