Physician see a variety of cases from trauma to illness and patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Local trauma surgeons provide good support, and the nursing staff is very strong and experienced. Qualifications include board certified/prepared in emergency medicine or board certified/eligible in a primary care specialty with emergency medicine experience.
This Level III Trauma Center supports a 12,000-annual-volume ED that provides coverage in 12-hour shifts. A hospitalist program is also in place, admission rate is 11%, EMR is MedHost, cover floor codes, helicopter service and EMS base station, and transfer rate 2%.

A premier care provider in central Wyoming, SageWest Health Care features two locations in Lander and Riverton that offer a full range of services to the communities they serve. The Riverton location is a 154-bed acute care facility and the Lander location is an 86-bed facility. Services offered include Diagnostic Imaging, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, 24-hour Emergency Medicine, an Intensive Care Unit, and many other specialty services.
Rendezvous in Riverton
Riverton is a neat little town located southeast of the Teton Wilderness area just east of the continental divide. The Riverton Rendezvous, a weeklong event held during the second and third weeks of July, celebrates the city’s founding in 1906 with a hot-air balloon rally, Arts in the Park, street dances, the Rocky Mountain Car and Bike Show, and a WRA rodeo. The Wild West Winter Carnival, held each February, offers ice sculpting, casino nights, and tethered balloon rides.
