Parallon provides Patient Access to Dominion Hospital and is responsible for the timely and accurate registration of all patients, including obtaining required demographic and financial information. The organization looks to the Patient Access teams to serve as gatekeepers and to protect patient rights as well as the financial integrity of the company. Dominion Hospital is a 116-bed HCA facility located in Falls Church, Virginia. The center is known for being the only freestanding mental healthcare facility in Northern Virginia. Dominion Hospital offers a range of inpatient, partial-hospitalization and outpatient services to meet the needs of children, adolescents and adults. As a Registrar, you will work directly in the facility to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to our community. Our team is dedicated to helping others in their time of need.
In this role you will:
- Welcome patients and family members in a professional manner providing exemplary customer service
- Contact the nursing staff for emergency medical needs and answer patient and visitor questions
- Interview patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
- Ensure charts are completed and accurate
- Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization
- Calculate and collect patient liable amount
- Adhere to AIDET patient communication guidelines: Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Preferred.
EXPERIENCE
One year of related experience required.
