Director, Vessel Support Team (VST) – Amazon and DLV2000

Job Overview:  

McDermott International, Inc. isseeking a highly motivated and team oriented Director of Marine Ops.

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Planand support both at Bid and Project Execution stage all offshore constructionactivities with DLV2000 and Amazon

  • Servesas the main point of contact for P&E and Project Management Team for allDLV2000 and Amazon scope related bid inputs and execution planning and support

  • Collaboratesglobally for all inter regional interfaces related to DLV2000 and Amazon

  • Monitorthe overall performance of VST in terms of Time, Cost, Quality and HSErequirements

  • Sponsorthe VST towards projects, fabrication and other support departments

  • Appraisebroad outlook for the business including market and customer trends, productsand competitive developments, and capital spending requirements.

  • Providesexpert advice regarding marine operations and leadership development foremployees

  • Assuresthat all employees and critical roles have current developmental/successiongoals and plans in place.

  • Establish VST objectives, policies and procedures. Covering all aspects and phases of Amazon and DLV2000 related bid support and operations.
  • Directs and participates in the process of acquiring work in a manner consistent with area policies and objectives and in collaboration with Regional Operations and P&E Teams.
  • Oversees Execution Planning and Readiness of work scopes related to DLV2000 and Amazon in coordination with Project Teams and Regional Operations Teams
  • Directs all Marine equipment and spreads including offshore personnel for DLV2000 and Amazon.
  • Formulate financial plans and capital expenditure requests. Establish their value in terms of marine operations, goals and business outlook. Approve and present these plans for approval.
  • Establish standards to measure Marine operations performance relative to productivity, safety, quality and other area goals and objectives.
  • Adjust the operations to local laws, custom and tradition and governmental procedures while ensuring that the operations strictly comply with corporate policies and procedures governing ethical business conduct.
  • Conduct meetings for the purpose of discussing on-going bids and projects or other departmental issues within the company so goals and objectives are maintained and develop strategies to improve performance and reduce costs of marine operations
  • Promote communication, motivation and accountability,
  • Promote building relationships internally and with clients and suppliers.  
  • Oversees and monitors the effectiveness and quality of all plans and programs developed by VST key personnel in achieving targets. Supervise the activities, priorities, work assignments, and performance of any work teams that may be established
  • Understand workforce attitudes and apply leadership and motivational principles and techniques consistent with a multinational workforce.

 Basic Qualifications: 

  • 15years of Operations experience out of which min over 5 years in managerial/director capacity.

  • Bachelor’sDegree in Engineering Ability to workas a team member as well as act as team leader.

  • Have wideexperience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations.

  • Communication andpresentation skills, both written and spoken.

  • Computer literateon Microsoft programs:  Word, Access,Power Point, Excel, Project.

  • Be conversantwith local and international QHSES laws, regulations and norms.
