Intake Coordinator $22-$26 per hour! (Escondido)

OVERVIEW: Interfaith Community Services was founded in 1979 by a handful of diverse faith communities to address the needs of low-income, homeless and under-served people in North San Diego County. Interfaith offers programs through North San Diego County, from the coastal City of Oceanside, to the inland communities south and east of our Escondido headquarters. With more than 300 member faith centers and 130 dedicated staff, Interfaith serviced more than 16,000 unique individuals last year alone.

WHAT YOU WILL DO: This position will be the primary point of entry for client referrals seeking treatment through the Recovery and Wellness Center (RWC) at Interfaith Community Services. This position will gather information to screen clients for admission to RWC substance use disorder (SUD) programs based on appropriate level of care. The Intake Coordinator will complete a variety of office and administrative duties to assign clients to the various modalities of treatment within the Recovery and Wellness Center. This position will be responsible for accurately assigning client level of care based on American Society of Addiction Society (ASAM) level of care criteria, and providing warm hand off referrals outside of RWC when applicable.

• Conducts phone and in-person screenings of clients seeking treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders
• Completes intake assessments and all related documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Works collaboratively with community referral sources and partners to ensure appropriate level of care placement
• Responds to all referral inquiries within 24 hours
• Monitors RWC residential census to manage bed availability
• Provides resources to clients who are not eligible for treatment and facilitate warm handoffs whenever possible both within the agency and outside of the agency
• Gathers all necessary collateral referral documentation to program staff upon client admission (obtaining outside records) to support placement and optimal service delivery
• Verifies client insurance and eligibility information during screening process
• Strictly adheres to participant confidentiality as required by State and Federal (42 CFR) regulations
• Participates in all staff meetings and trainings
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be currently certified by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP)
• 2+ years of experience working in an addiction treatment facility, social services or nonprofit setting required
• Experience working with individuals with alcohol, drug and mental illness, or homelessness required

SKILLSETS / ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients
• Knowledge of San Diego County Drug Medi-cal system of care
• Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment criteria
• Experience writing accurate and comprehensive case notes
• Must have reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license, including proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage and insurability under the agency’s insurance carrier’s standards
• Must successfully pass a criminal background and exclusion/disbarment check
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, tuberculosis test, and drug screen
