Family Therapist (scotts valley)

We are hiring compassionate Family Therapist to join our Counseling Team at The Camp! This is a key role whose primary goal is to provide a safe, supportive, nurturing environment for our clients. You would be a critical part of our treatment team and can easily collect all hours needed for your MFTt & AMFT requirements:

Position: You will maintain a caseload and will be responsible for assisting in the establishment of treatment and aftercare goals, implementing therapy in a group, family or individual counseling environment, crisis intervention and other twelve core functions under minimal supervision and consultation. This is a position requiring the individual to serve as a primary link between referral source, family and other agencies regarding patient care, and requires a thorough understanding of our facility’s treatment program and philosophy, admission process and criteria, support and administrative services, medical knowledge of various aspects of alcoholism, drug abuse and dual diagnosis.

Applicants for this position must have excellent verbal/written communication skills, basic computer skills, and a clean driving record. This position may be responsible for providing services to residents during the evening and night hours and must thrive in a team environment!

Qualifications:
• Experience – Knowledge or experience working with patients who are chemically dependent preferred
• Certifications – CADC, or MFTt Preferred
• Licenses – Current Driver’s License
• Special Requirements – Knowledge of 12 Step Recovery
• Age/Gender Specifics – Ability to work with male and female, substance abuse/ dual diagnosed population.

Once the physical dependence on drugs has been addressed, our resident’s are ready to begin to heal emotionally and psychologically with a clear mind. Their days in our program are filled with opportunities to explore the reasons underlying the substance abuse and learn new coping skills through counseling, education, 12-Step work and other therapies.

Spirit: It isn’t just drugs that wear a person down, but also the emotional pain that breaks the spirit. But the human spirit is resilient and can rebound given time and support. Through our addiction program’s 12-Step meetings and group counseling, our residents gain the support of a network of individuals in recovery who understand the pain addiction brings. This sense of fellowship reminds them that they are not alone, and opens the door to a new outlook on life.
