EXPERIENCED – P/T DENTAL ASSISTANT (Midwood, Brooklyn)

Experienced Part-Time Dental assistant with minimum of 3+ years of experience, needed for a modern general/cosmetic practice near the Q train in Midwood, Brooklyn. Candidate must be friendly, enthusiastic, goal orientated, organized, and self-motivated. Must be a team player and able to work certain late nights and Sundays. Requirements:
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Must be proficient in taking digital x-rays (DEXIS), setting up and breaking down rooms, pouring up models
• Asking about the patient’s medical history
• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling)
• Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Keeping track of our recall system. (phone skills required)
• Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, and ordering supplies)
• Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including periodontics and oral surgery.
• Knowledge of Dentrix Software a plus
