The Sequoias San Francisco is seeking to fill a Housekeeping Manager’s position. This position includes full health benefits, pension participation, and employer 403b retirement contributions. Starting salary is $32.93 to $34.60 per hour or higher depending on experience. This position reports to the Director of EVS or ED and is an Exempt position.

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Manager plans, organizes, directs, and supervises Housekeeping staff and activities related to housekeeping and laundry operations for the community in accordance with established standards, procedures and regulatory compliance. This person must lead by example and be comfortable in guiding the department to exceed the service levels expected by our residents. Housekeeping areas include internal and external common areas, a skilled nursing facility, private apartments, and laundry operations.

This position is responsible for supervising and training housekeeping staff to established standards, procedures and regulatory compliance regarding housekeeping, laundry and sanitation. Including, but not limited to safety and accident prevention, monitoring productivity standards, plan work schedules, assure that resident expectations are met by periodic evaluation, implementing staff scheduling and work assignments, maintains cleaning records, supervises service contracts and various housekeeping projects as assigned, acts as a working supervisor, maintains and monitors inventory status necessary for maintaining a clean and sanitary community, oversees the invoicing of special resident services, evaluates methods and maintains equipment and materials, reviews requests for work, directs work of assigned personnel, inspects completed assignments to assure performance and quality, oversees laundry operations, works on-call as necessary, and performs other duties as assigned. Some weekend work may be required.

Supervisor Responsibility: Supervises up to 24 Housekeepers and laundry operation.
Preferred Experience: AA or higher degree with two (2) or more years as a Housekeeping Manager in a retirement community that includes a medical facility.
