Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Obtains venous, arterial, and capillary blood samples from identified patients, labels and ensures samples are received by the outreach laboratory in a timely manner.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 1 year continuous experience preferred. Outreach experience strongly preferred.

Essential Technical/Motor skills: Able to adjust and/or troubleshoot monitoring equipment, and computer equipment

Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner. Exhibits tact, enthusiasm, and patience. Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues, and be able to read, write, and speak English language fluently.

Job Requirements:

POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate required
Licensure/Certification: Graduate of a phlebotomy course and/or PBT (ASCP) preferred.
