The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children age 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM – As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in State government is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT:

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited University or College

Must be currently licensed to practice psychology in the State of Florida

*DUTIES:

The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible will serve as the Clinical Services Director at the Developmentally Disabled Defendants’ Program (DDDP) at Florida State Hospital.

  • Oversees the psychological services department and behavioral analysis department at DDDP. Recruits and selects staff, to include making the final hiring decisions. Consults with Human Resources in performance and disciplinary issues. Coordinates, assigns, reviews, and approves work done by staff in the psych services and behavioral analysis departments at DDDP.
  • Conducts functional behavior assessments, designs, writes, and coordinates behavioral programs including reduction, acquisition, token economy, maintenance, and generalization procedures. Ensures that the programs conform to sound behavioral principles, including legal and ethical issues.
  • Conducts daily review of maladaptive behaviors, observations, integrity and reliability checks of staff implementation of behavioral programs and procedures.
  • Analyzes behavioral data and completes related data graphing protocols for residents at DDDP consistent with behavioral program. Prepares and updates graphic display of data. Prepares documents describing both individual resident and program trends.
  • Conducts and documents training of supervisor and staff in the implementation of the Contingency Manual, behavior plans and other related behavioral interventions.
  • Participates as a member of the resident’s support team and other meetings as assigned presenting a behavioral perspective to issues.
  • Serves as a member of the Local Review Committee, submits reports and updates to behavior plans as needed, participates in revisions to the Contingency Manual. Prepares monthly notes and other reports to summarize behavioral intervention as needed.
  • Participates in the review, updates of DDDP P/P, SAC’s, guidelines related to behavior analysis and related protocols as assigned.
  • Provides on-call authorization for reactive strategies as scheduled.
  • Ability to document and ensure documentation is completed as required.
  • Maintain timesheet, ensuring accuracy and submit timely in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
