Full-time Days
Full-time Eves
Full-time Nights (NOC)
Part-time Night (NOC)

The Nursing Assistant assists residents in achieving their best possible quality of life. The incumbent provides basic individual personal care.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Unencumbered Washington Nursing Assistant, Certified license.
• Obtain AED and HIV/AIDS training within 30 days of hire.
• Requires Food Handler’s permit, First Aid and CPR.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to deal with multiple priorities and demands.
• Regular, predictable and dependable attendance.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Effective English communications skills both verbal and written

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides the delivery of nursing and nursing-related activities for residents within established guidelines and in accordance with federal and state regulations.
2. Monitors residents throughout the day without interfering with their privacy.
3. Provides resident-directed services that honor resident lifestyles and preferences.
4. Assists residents with daily living activities such as dressing, dining, hygiene, bathing, changing soiled cloths and bedding.
5. Performs transferring of residents utilizing two person lift, or mechanical lifts in accordance with the resident plans of care.
6. Keeps residents rooms in a neat an orderly manner while honoring resident preferences.
7. Creates an environment, with Neighborhood Team, where residents have ongoing opportunities to participate in individualized and purposeful activities, resembling their previous home environment, lifestyle and customary daily routine.
8. Monitors residents with mobility issues. Practices established preventative skin care techniques.
9. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of personal interest and a positive emphasis on a calm environment throughout the neighborhood.
10. Collaborate with Neighborhood Team to ensure a holistic approach to services is considered.
11. Act as emergency responder with AED and emergency supplies for community wide emergencies.
12. Performs bath aide tasks as required.
13. Reports all change of resident condition to the licensed nurse and supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Extensive walking and standing.
• Move actively throughout the day.
• Able to assist in the evacuation of residents if necessary.
• Bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching over head.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens: Level I.
• Work in well-lighted, temperature controlled, well-ventilated work areas.
• May be subject to infections, odors and/or hazards that might cause bruises or scratches.
• Subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel and visitors.
• Subject to frequent interruptions.
