Essential Functions:
Transports freight and related materials by commercial motor vehicle.
Delivers and picks up freight as assigned/dispatched in an efficient, effective, safe, and timely manner.
Effectively and professionally interacts with demanding customers.
Makes inside deliveries as directed by dispatcher.
Peddles and completes pick-ups as assigned.
Able to flex into 4 to 5 different routes as required.
Understands MAWB, HAWB paperwork and ORD Forwarder requirements.
Able to run sort distribution freight as required (includes the use of specific scanners).
Reports departures, arrivals, and POD information.
Ensures proper, accurate, complete and timely processing of related paperwork in support of position duties/responsibilities.
Understands, supports, and promotes Tax-Air’s philosophy and commitment to safety and security at all times.
May handles freight loading/unloading/rearranging, as required.
Performs complete vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections for all vehicles driven on a daily basis.
Ensures driver inspection reports and logs are accurately completed in a timely manner.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge of route area and/or ORD forwarder areas.
Able to read maps and possesses proper maps for the route.
Proven ability to work positively and effectively in a fast-paced, changing-priority, and stressful environment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Physical ability to handle required loading/unloading and rearranging of freight as required.
Proficient utilizing standard office equipment, such as: phone, fax, pager, copier, etc.
Class B license.
Minimum 2 years straight truck driving experience preferred.
Hazmat endorsement (or willing to obtain).
Able to lift 75 lbs.
Possesses and maintains all required and/or valid licenses or certifications; must be able to pass driving and drug/alcohol tests per D.O.T. and/or Company requirements.
Experience operating a forklift and basic material handling equipment.
