Hospice Scheduler – F/T – 2 Positions Available – Join Our Growing Team! – Bristol Hospice LLC – Honolulu, HI

The scheduler is responsible for the daily management of scheduling visits to the appropriate clinical staff to positively effect efficient utilization of staffing resources. In addition, the scheduler will have general oversight of regulatory requirements related to visit frequencies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate
  • 2 years’ experience of scheduling in a hospice or healthcare environment
  • Experience with healthcare software programs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated organization skills
  • Ability to manage time wisely
  • Ability to think quickly to ensure that field staff are kept up to date in changes of schedules
  • Ability to work well with others and build trusting relationships
  • Must be able to learn software programs quickly
  • Must have intermediate skills in working with computers and office equipment

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Using electronic medical record (EMR), schedule patient visits according to plan or care and staff availability for nurses and aides
  • Using EMR, enter scheduling data and creates schedules
  • Communicate changes to schedules to staff and parents
  • In coordination with nursing supervisor, prioritize urgency of unexpected visit needs and schedules clinical staff
  • Provide quality review of visit frequencies and missed visits
  • Provide quality reports to the appropriate supervisor and/or case manager
  • Assist nursing staff with urgent medication orders, DME needs, etc.
