Habilitation Specialist/QIDP

Qualifications for Habilitation Specialist are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • One year experience in moderate, severe, profound developmental disabilities population
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Must have or be eligible for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional designation
  • CPR and First aid certification required
  • Must have current Ohio drivers license and be eligible for auto insurance in order to drive company vehicles

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops, monitors and implements habilitation goals for assigned residents
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and functions as an active team member
  • Instructs Unit Managers and Direct Care staff in proper programming methods, provides additional training as needed or as changes occur
  • Collects relevant data; prepares and maintains required records and notes on assigned residents
  • Coordinates in-building programs with out-of-building programs to ensure consistency
