Group Home Manager

Summary

The Group Home Manager is responsible for the daily supervision of the group home’s employees, operations, and quality to ensure the program delivery and client care adheres to organizational and state polices. This position will manage all aspects of the group home’s operations, including supervision of clients, programming, staffing, client case management, and monthly budget. This position reports to the Director of Residential Treatment.

Job Responsibilities

Consumer Support:

  • Act as liaison, advocate, and coordinator for resident involvement in therapy, self-advocacy, vocational programming, transportation services, integrated community activities, recreation, and learning independent living skills.

  • Foster open and support communication with resident’s families, and other community organizations and agencies.

  • Oversee all resident medical, medication, and health issues.

  • Provide and ensure communication of medical and health issues to staff, agency nurses, families, etc. using appropriate logs when necessary.

  • Implement and follow-up on all support services recommendations.

        • Serve as a point of contact for counties or agencies placing clients in the group home, including the facilitator of resident intakes or other treatment meetings once the resident is admitted.

        • Create a safe environment with predictable daily routines that are structured for both clients and staff.

        • Supervise the staffing functions for the program, including training new employees, creating staff schedules, and assisting the Director of Residential Treatment with staff evaluations.

        • Coordinate crisis management with client and treatment team, including follow-up for critical incidents with placing entity.

        • Maintain timely and accurate documentation regarding each client’s placement in the program.

        • Develop and maintain connections with the program’s external referral sources.

        • Adhere to the program’s budget, including tracking wages and expenses

  • Maintain compliance with state and federal laws and agency policies and procedures outlined by the accrediting agency.

  • Oversee maintenance of the group homes and vehicles to include cleanliness, décor, safety issues, emergency situations; practice preventative maintenance; ensure compliance with CARF.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred

  • Previous experience with mental health programs

  • Previous experience with supervisory responsibilities and leadership

  • Working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards

  • Excellent verbal, written, and management skills

Job Schedule/Conditions

Work is performed primarily in the group home, as well as the community
