University Retirement Community is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located in Davis, California. Our campus consists of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care apartments, as well as a Skilled Nursing and Rehab facility.
We are currently looking for a Director of Nursing to head our newly renovated Skilled Nursing Facility! This executive exempt position is full time, but requires ability to be on-call 24 hours.
Pre-employment testing includes reference check, drug testing, fingerprint background check and medical examination.

- Responsible for the operation and development of Health Care Center (HCC) and patient care policies.
- Maintains high degree of resident satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high quality services. Responsible for all nursing services in Health Care Center and facility-wide.
- Assists with the development and implementation of department manual (philosophy, objectives, and procedures). Continue ongoing study and changing of job descriptions to meet new regulations, and guidelines.
- Determine staffing needs; interview and select prospective personnel for available positions.

Manage and maintain annual budget on census, staffing, and revenue.

Team Lead on all state reports and survey.
- Track, evaluate and review employees? performance evaluations timely.
- Responsible for issuing fair and equitable disciplinary actions for immediate staff.
- Collaborate with Health Services Administrator and IDT members on QAPI program in compliance with CMS requirements.
- Assure quality patient care is maintained.

This position requires:
- Significant advanced knowledge, usually the result of a minimum of four (4) years of college with a B.S. degree in nursing and/or experience in the field.
- Registered Nursing license (RN) from an accredited nursing program, college or university.
- Must possess a working knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding the operation of a health care facility as well as OSHA regulations.
- At least two year experience in nursing supervision within the last five years.
