Job Summary:

The Staff RN provides direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. Also collaborates, in a collegial manner, with physicians and other health care team members in meeting the patient’s needs. This position may delegate certain aspects of care to those under their direct supervision, within the scope of nursing practice.

Essential Functions:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family.
• Plans care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes
• Implements plan of care for patient. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights.
• Evaluates the plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes.
• Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure and accepted standards within their area of practice.
• Demonstrates organizational responsibilities and identifies areas for self-improvement through self-assessment and peer review.
• People skills are a plus.
• Flexible as needed to help optimize the units’ capacity to foster an excellent patient experience.
• Functions in roles and provides leadership on the unit as needed and requested.
• Must be able to pass a telemetry rhythm strip test.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing. New hires are required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
• Specialization in EP or Cath lab/procedural desired
• One to two years of experience in ICU/ER
• Must live within a 30 mile radius of the hospital
• Experience: 2 years of clinical experience as RN. Prior Cath Lab, Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Specialized Knowledge: Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle.
• Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers). Current ACLS certification.
