Project Coordinator: Wellness Program – Part Time (san anselmo)

The Cedars of Marin provides programs for adults with intellectual and developmental
disabilities by cultivating their interests, skills and independence to live creative, productive and

As a part of Cedars team, you will display caring, sensitivity and flexibility in working with adults
with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the programs. This work is fun, creative,
fulfilling and challenging.

Cedars has received several grants to implement a one-year project aimed at improving the wellness practices of residents in 2 group home settings and is seeking a Healthy Living Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will work with key Cedars staff and consultants to develop and implement all activities related to the project including, but not limited to:

* Delivering a wellness curriculum to 21 residents over an 8-week period.
* Working with staff and residents to modify existing menus to include healthier choices and reduce less healthy options.
* Working with project consultants (e.g. personal trainer, nutritionist) to develop individualized wellness plans for each resident.
* Developing and implementing staff training
* Developing and implementing project evaluation methodology
* Supporting staff and residents to maintain wellness practices

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, someone who is creative, dedicated and passionate about supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to improve their health outcomes through nutrition and exercise. Specific competencies for a successful candidate include:
* Experience working with adults with IDD and in disability community services
* Education and training in healthy nutrition practices (e.g. dietician or nutritionist)
* Experience with supporting healthy exercise practices
* Experience with developing programs
* Experience with project management
* Experience with both the development and delivery of training/education
* Experience with program measurement and evaluation
