Mechanic General Maintenance 8:00 pm – 4:30 am

Follett School Solutions has an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic in our McHenry Distribution Center.  

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the facility and equipment are maintained in operating and safe condition.

What you’ll do::

• Repair and maintain conveyors, motors and controls as needed.
• Operate, repair and maintain all facilities related equipment including pumps, water heaters, fans, cutters, compressors, control units and valves.
• Install, repair or replace plumbing, electrical (including AC/DC circuits and voltages up to 480 volt three phase).
• Operator / Administrator of HVAC computer controls.
• Perform basic carpentry tasks as directed.
• Build or assemble tables, shelves, offices, partitions, and or equipment as needed.
• Reconfigure office furniture as needed.
• In winter months, clear sidewalks and patios of snow and ice as needed. Performs in clearing parking lot of snow and ice as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience in a distribution center or similar work environment.
• Proficient knowledge of 110, 220 and 480 volt electrical systems.
• Functional knowledge of commercial HVAC, mechanical and plumbing systems
• Basic experience and ability to read blueprints and written schematics.
• Ability to work 8:00 pm to 4:30 am Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed inlcuding Saturdays.
