Essential Functions :
Performs routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment, specialized parts of equipment or stationary ground equipment in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
Inspects, services, troubleshoots, repairs, replaces and overhauls ground support and stationary ground equipment and components such as baggage handling system/conveyor maintenance, passenger loading bridges, 400 hz ground power, pre-condition air systems or chassis, body and drive-train components on a variety of equipment.
Paints, repairs bodywork and performs other technical work as required on all ground support equipment.
Coordinates repairs with other GSE Mechanics and outside vendors.
Determines tooling and parts needed as it relates to stationary ground support equipment.
Ensures tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and good working condition.
Keeps work area clean and free of any safety hazards.
QUALIFCATIONS:
Technical degree or three (3) years documented mechanic experience is required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: HVAC universal license required.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to industrial power systems, operation of power tools and equipment, DGS, Safety, Security, Ramp, EPA, and Station policies and procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install and adjust any automotive and ground equipment, machinery, accessories, parts, etc. and operate power tools.
Must be able to follow directions read and interpret documents, work at various paces and travel on short notice.
Some overnight travel required.
